BMW Safari's first adventure to the West was an experience to remember.
Over 120 riders congregated in Perth to prepare for four days of pure motorcycling adventure.
For the first time since Tasmania in 2014, BMW Safari offered a combined GS / TS Safari. From Perth, riders would set off on different routes, covering both the trails and roads of WA.
Nightly stopovers were the same for both rides, so all participants could share the same BMW Safari spirit in the evenings.
GS or TS?
The GS Safari is aimed at off road adventure riders – keen to get their bikes as dirty as possible. Riders travel around 300+km per day, covering forest trails, bush tracks and rocky riverbeds.
The TS is for the road riders. The route took place on sealed roads, winding it’s way around the beautiful south west corner of WA. On the TS, riding with a pillion is also an option and we had a strong contingent of riders with partners enjoying the event.
K 1600 B
For BMW Motorrad Australia, the 2017 GS / TS Safari was the perfect opportunity to introduce the newest tourer to the BMW range – the K 1600 B.
Featuring a distinct Bagger silhouette and 6-cylinder in-line engine, the K 1600 B is the ultimate motorcycle for long-distance journeys.
Both TS and GS riders finished the Safari in the coastal town of Albany, after an epic week of motorcycling.
